In 1961 John Steinbeck and his dog Charlie drove 10,000 miles (in the camper shown at left) across the United States "In search of America". On June 29th 2003, my then 6 month old Golden Retriever, Charley and I climbed into a motor home and took our own 10 week-10,000 mile road trip. In addition to the adventure of cross country travel, our goal was to bring attention and funds to local children's charities.
